Escalade keyfob on a Yukon?

I understand that you must have a 6 button Tahoe remote (lock, unlock, start, panic, latch and lift gate) in order to use the 6 button Escalade remote. Does anyone know if the 07-09 Cadillac STS fob which is 5 button (lock, unlock, start, panic and trunk) would work on a 07 Tahoe without auto lift gate?

I just ordered mine off eBay today. Two 6 button remotes for $140. I went to the dealer just to check on their price, $200 each. Yeah no thanks guys.

Got the keys in. I know the ones I ordered were not "Factory" made and I was ok with that. They are nicer than the factory remotes but not sure if it was an upgrade worth the $. It was super easy to program but nothing to get super stoked on.

You need the 6 button escalade fob like this you can get them cheaper on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/321519527289

I'm having local locksmith do mine for $15 each., dealer wanted $45 each. Call locksmith and ask them if they have the diagnostic equipment to program the fobs.

Hey sorry, I saw this question asked earlier, but didn't see a response. Does your car need to have the power lift gate in order for this key feb to work? I have the key fob with 5 buttons (lock, unlock, remote start, rear glass, alarm), and obviously the Escalade fob as the 6th button for power lift gate. Thanks!

I paid in the 50-60 range myself, I think this is only for the 5 button ones

Just double checking, that remote (in its description further down the page) says it doesn't come with any of the electronic parts, just the actual housing and the silicone buttons. I'm just guessing that I'm going to need the electronic parts and that I can't just take the ones out of my old remote since it's a completely different shape. Am I wrong/missing something?

Man I wish I had the power lift gate on the Yukon. I have it on my other car and it makes things so much easier, and would be plenty willing to pay the extra cash to get the 6 button remote (if I had the power gate). I guess I can't have it all!

I dont have power lift gates but couldnt find a 5 button remote with just the hatch button.

I would just get the six button remote imo. I read that link as well and I think you are right, thats just the cover. No guts at all.

Okay, so you got the regular Escalade fob with the sixth button for the power lift gate, and it still works for your Tahoe without the power lift gate? I just figured they would be incompatible but if it works for you then I guess it should work for me. Either way I just have to get rid of this piece of crap remote, I feel like I'm crushing it just by pressing a button. Thanks for the help, I know this has probably been covered before somewhere, I just couldn't find the thread.
