I have a 98 Surburban 350 4X4. The problem started when towing our travel trailer, almost home when tring to go up a hill and lost engine power, it idles fine but would bogg down and not go, it also does this when going starting off from a red light or stop sign. I can let it cool down for alittle while and all is fine until it gets hot, doesn't matter if I am towing or not. I did notice that before it gets hot sometimes, If you stomp the gas to go into passing gear the engine revs up but it will not go into the high passing gear, do not now if the transmission is going out and would cause the engine to bog down when all is getting hot. any information would be helpful.
