Finally got taken for a ride on craigslist and need some input on what to do. I bought a set of 22" wheels from a guy who had them advertised as 6 lug chevy, a quick inspection on my part, I paid the guy and off I went. Finally got out to my shop a week later to get them bolted up and they dont fit. Its real close but not right. I did some measuring and its an 1/8th off at each lug. Seems the closest to what i have is a ford bolt pattern, probably a 6x135. I did some research online and came across some search subjects on elongating the holes to get the correct bolt pattern with no issues with vibrations. My brother works in a machine shop and would be able to get them on a mill and mill them about 60 thousandths which would get me to where i needed. Just dont know if I take the chance and mill them or probably have to take a loss on them and put them up for sale. :Plugged:

Put them up for sale. That sucks but it's better than milling them because that does not even sound remotely safe.

...And if the redrilling doesn't work, THEN how well will you be able to sell them?

Get an exact lug measurement, find out what vehicle they're meant for, and sell them as that. But just sell them. Don't mess with them.

If you attempt to elongate them you'll immediately destroy any value they may have to anyone else. So just sell and recoup as much money back as you can and move on.

got them up for sale, read about alot of hot rodders doing this and the truck is only driven on the weekends but after consideration I thought I'd rather be safe than sorry. Now back to 24's or not is the question LOL.

Crager used to sell wheels with oval type holes to fit different bolt patterns. A good machine shop could do it for you and if the wheels were hub centric or you used hub centric rings you could do it. However, the cost of machining them and the possible safety issues would not make it worth it.
