Driving in town today and I notice the AFM deal is different. Before with light acceleration I could really feel those four cylinders straining/vibrating before it went back to V8 mode. Today it switches to V8 earlier with less throttle. Can't feel it at all but I can monitor it on the DIC. Any way to see if there was a system upgrade that was done on the fly? I have been putting it in low range and selecting 4th or 5th gear to lock out the AFM. Did it learn its lesson?

Usually put shifter in low and select 4 or 5th gear in town. Not the tranfer case low. Say max of 50 mph but mostly less. I remember when we first got this I couldn't tell if it had the AFM actually. Studied up on it some and found the DIC setting for the readout. Later on it started the lugging in V4 mode, very noticieable up to just lately. I've been running mid-grade gas in it since new to prevent any detonation with the heavy load on the four cylinders. I also wonder if I got a load of gas not quite up to par and it is actually pinging enough to trigger the faster switch to V8 mode? I dunno.. But I like it much better like this. Just wondering if there is some way to see if there was a change in the programming that has been downloaded? Plan to have this machine for a long time and looking to avoid trouble later on.

I do not believe the ecm can be updated over the air on the k2xx platform but the T1xx platform can however
