Put a TYF decal on your ride!

But seriously, you will be surprised what a clean air filter can do for your truck!

Intake and exhaust are generally the easiest and cheapest mods to do, Even if they aren't cheap, they are cheaper than other things.
Remove the air silencer, drop in a k&n or other brand lifetime filter, or a whole intake setup. Then exhaust, headers, etc, if you have the money.

HP and TQ= $$$

well you should listen to her :Handshake:

But theres millions of stuff you can do. some may be cheaper then others depending on the deal you can find on the forums and ebay.

like others mentioned. Exhaust and intake, electric fans, under drive pulleys, a tune by JennaBear (aka Blackbear tuning), a nice solid tuneup, its endless.

With my ol' LT1 Caprice's,their were a fair amount of free and cheap mods that could be done. These Tahoe's on the other hand, not sure...

Kinda cheap mods...Trottle body spacer..,ported throttle body..,Spectre drop in or CAI filter..,180* or 160* thermostat(depending on were you live and how much timing you want advanced)..,PCMforless.com tune(unless BBTune is around the same price or cheaper)..,Full A/C system delete..,and spair tire and jack delete.

Things that could help improve performance:...Seafoam your intake..,change fuel filter..,flush and change coolent system fluid..,change spark plugs(AC delco or Autolite)..,
change your belt(Goodyear gatorback)..,and have your transmission serviced(you could have a shift kit added if you did not get a tune for it).I'd also like to say add a Corvette servo to your trans BUT not sure what one would cost at this point.I had one in my '94 LT1 Caprice and loved it,but i bought the car with it installed. It had a trans-go shift kit and a corvette servo installed w/ stock converter, damn good combo....

Danny_Z56, what does the vette servo do for you? I've noticed a lot of guys that do the 5.7-5.3, 6.0 swaps using them.
Also which stat is for which climate? I bought my truck in MN and it's new home is S. TX., would I use the 160 or the 180?

do you have any performance mods Shane? if nothing to crazy id stick with the 180.
also the vette servo firms up the shifts in the tranny i believe. i never bought one or dealt with one, so i cant tell you anything about it. lol They run around 50 bucks or something. theres lots of info out there regarding them.

I have the CAI, dual exhaust and a performance programmer (Bullydog I think) not much right now. The engines about to get rebuilt and I'm gonna get a cam and BBTune. Not sure what kinda cam and lifter, ect yet because I don't know which one to get. Still digging around on these forums trying to figure it out.
I have a 2dr 4x4 with 33"s on it, tow a med sized trailer a couple times a year. It's my DD so I don't want anything too crazy considering the gas prices these days...

Drive downhill! The bigger and steeper the hill, the faster and cheaper you'll go.
This plan does have some drawbacks.

Cool, don't think I'll be getting one of those unless I end up with a shift kit then ;) Might kill a few hours reading up on them it I just can't stand it, lol.

Mark, I laughed so hard I think I almost ruptured my spleen, that is by far the best and cheapest performance mod on this site:hail:
