Dvd player ticking noise

I have a stock DVD player in my 13’ chevy tahoe and it just started having a ticking noise when playing a cd or dvd. It sounds like the laser(eye) is constantly trying to read the CD even when its already playing fine. I’ve tried lightly blowing compressed air in there but no luck. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

I have a 2011, and it did the same thing, right before it quit working altogether... I removed it, disassembled it, and found that one of the small ribbon cables had shorted out. Radio still works, just not the CD/DVD player
