Diesel Maintenance issue...Please help

I have 2025 Diesel Duramax Tahoe w/ ~4k miles on it. Was on a road trip and transmission completely stopped working (wouldn't shift, engine smoking); transmission got up to ~250 degrees. Long story short, after i got the truck to dealership, they stated the transmission fluid line was improperly installed, got pinched, and leaked fluid which resulted in transmission failure. After 2 repair attempts, the car still makes a "whinning" sound after i take foot off the accelerator when passing on the highway (especially when not warmed up)....they've told me all diesels do this, but i definitely don't remember it happening before. They have also claimed there was no damage to the transmission and the only reason there was smoke was because of transmission fluid on the engine that was hot.

I love the truck, but super frustrating experience and given the cost, i'm considering attempting to lemon law the vehicle. Any thoughts or perspectives? Am i over reacting?

Appreciate any perspectives.

You’ll have to research your state’s vehicle lemon law. Keep all documents and meticulous records.

If you qualify, I would proceed with the lemon law process. The vehicle will never be right, due to the transmission issue.

Make sure the words "improperly installed, got pinched and leaked fluid" are on your service record. These could be invaluable later. I Would make sure this is duly noted and that it is made well aware with the service manager and maybe even the general manager of the business. If this thing barfs down the road, and it very well could, You better have some legs to stand on.
