So as the title states we have a 2025 AT4 Ultimate with the diesel powertrain (LZ0) with 1800 miles on the odometer. My wife went to pick up my son from school the other day and had to wait about 10 to 15 min while idling with a ambient temperature in the 80s. Then drove about two miles to grab the kids some food and sat idling in the drive thru for another 10 min. While sitting in the drive thru a warning on the dash came on saying "Transmission Hot idle Engine". She pulled up the temp gauge screen and the trans temp read 270°F. She got out of the drive thru line and turned the vehicle off, let it cool off and drove it home without any issues (slipping or hard shifting). I drove the vehicle to the dealer today (29 miles) with no issues from the transmission, but the other fluid temps were high towards the end of the trip. This was under normal highway driving at 65 to 70mph with ambient temps in the 80s.
Oil temp got to 230°F normal is 195-220
Coolant temp got to 221°F normal is 190-220
Why would a brand new vehicle with less than 2000 miles have such high operating temps? If anything over 230°F for the 10L80 transmission is considered overheating and detrimental why would the vehicle be programmed to not give a warning until 270°F.
Final note... all break in procedures were followed per manufacturers recommendation. An oil change was done at 630 miles with an oil analysis that came back normal.
