Hey fellas,

got my first tahoe last week and was looking to get the chrome look on the emblems but havent found anyone doing this on the 2010 model. Is it the same process as the previous 07 to 09 or anyone experience any different?

Also, are the tahoe letters just stuck with adhesive or with screws?

thanks in advance

Not sure what you mean by getting the chrome "look" on the emblems. The first thing 99% of us do is pull all the emblems off. If you are talking about the bowtie emblems on the front and back, then you just need a heat gun for the rear. The front bowtie is screwed on behind the grille and has adhesive, but the screw is very easy to get too.

If you want to remove the TAHOE letters be very careful. Make sure you take all the proper steps to take them off, it would be a shame to scratch up the paint on a 2010. You want to make sure the truck is clean, then heat them real good with a heat gun or a hair dryer on high, then the adhesive should loosen up pretty good. Pull each piece off one at a time with you hands(NO PLYERS OR BLADES), then you need to buy an eraser wheel for your drill to remove the rest of the adhesive. If you use any chemicals, make sure they are cool for the clear coat. One good one that we used to use in detail shops was lacquer thinner. You just have to be very careful and use a little bit on a rag; wipe in one direction and wash off with water right after. Then wax the truck and you should be good.

Thanks,

the chrome look i was talking about was the yellow piece that comes off the back and leaves just the chrome? Does this mean that I have to buy a new chrome piece for the front or just paint it?

Or hell would black look better?
