You need to do a re-learn. Dealership or local station that knows what they are doing.

I resolved a very similar issue at the beginning of the summer. My battery drained down to the point where the power assist stopped working so it was like driving with manual steering. The steering system is all electrical and I got the "Service Power Assist" error on my screen even after replacing battery - all my cables are good. The dash alert never went away even after another battery disconnect and reconnect.

My shop did a relearn on the truck and eliminated the error on screen. They didn't charge me anything cause I've spent a good deal of money they so it wasn't a big deal to them.

Google it you need to take bothe the ground and pos cable off and short them together This will reset the computer. I have had it happen with a dead battery several times. Why this occurs I will never know

My 2022 Chevy Work Truck had done it to me. First time out shop fixed it second time I did. You may need a short piece of wire to jump across.

• Starter Relay / Fuse
  • In the under-hood fuse block:
    • Starter Relay (labeled STRTR or CRNK)
    • Fuses for ECM and IGN
  • Sometimes pulling the relay and reseating it fixes poor contact.
• Neutral Safety Switch (Range Sensor)
  • Try starting in Neutral instead of Park. If it cranks in Neutral, the switch is worn.
• Security System (PassKey/PassLock)
  • If the Security or Padlock light is flashing on the dash, the immobilizer may have reset when the battery died.
  • Relearn procedure:
    1. Turn key to ON (do not start).
    2. Wait ~10 minutes until the security light stops flashing.
    3. Turn key OFF for 5 seconds.
    4. Repeat 2 more times (total ~30 minutes).
    5. Try to start.

none of this is applicable....
also that physical key relearn process does not work on 2018+ and doing a push to start smart key is a different process

might be but the issue is the "electric" power steering module is giving a error, starts and drives fine
these k2's have electrical ghost's, they changed the system to gds2 and added a lot more CAN network, most bus, etc
a minor electrical problem can basically infect half the vehicle.
The Current T1's are even worse they are saying now in some cases not to even repair a broken wire and instead are recommending to replace the harness in question because the "break" even though repaired can cause interference. If repairs are done it should be the exact same type of copper-tin wire and exact same gauge, because using something different can change the ohm's, cause intermittent issues or throw codes to something else seemingly unrelated.
it's coming down to having to use a oscilloscope to diagnose repairs, a basic meter is not going to cut it.
I had a bad alternator on mine that was throwing out random 800ma electrical spikes and that was causing the BCM to think the vehicle was being shut off and restarted in milliseconds, that in turn caused bad handshakes between the various modules and even though the vehicle never shut off and kept on driving a whole crap load of errors would pop up, radio and cluster would go berzerk or completely go black-dead, the brakes might be applied out the blue, you name it.... service this, service that, no traction control, yada yada
it was totally bizarre and it even took the dealer for a loop a few times.

I assume that when you say that you replaced the battery with another one that it was a brand new battery. The only true way to check a battery is with a load test. I have had batteries that voltage tested good after charging but as soon as you put a load test on them they failed. Some cars after changing the battery have to have their electronics reset. Welcome to the word of computers controlling almost everything.

This sounds exactly like my issue and that was my first thought is the re-learn process was needed. I need to find a small shop or make an appointment at the dealer.

you "could" try this, it's basically the same procedure when doing a window switch relearn
start the engine, turn the wheel to full right lock hold for five seconds, then to full left lock and hold for five seconds, return the wheel to center, turn off the ignition, wait for all lights to go out, and then restart the engine
