I have a 2019 GMC yukon xl slt. About a year ago it developed a leak in the evap system and I had it at the shop and they smoke tested it to determine where it was leaking. Long story short I didn’t have them fix it at that time and I brought the truck home. A couple days later I went out one morning to start it up and it was dead as a door nail. Wouldn’t do anything. No lights nothing. It kinda puzzled me because it had never acted weak or anything. I jumped it off and went on and I’ve never had any more issues. Never really thought any more about it. That’s until about a week ago the starter went out. I unhooked the battery to replace the starter. Got it fixed and went on. Well a couple days after I replaced the starter I went out on morning to start it and it was dead. This time however lights would come on but it wouldn’t start. I jumped it off and had the battery and alternator tested and they both checked out just fine. And since I jumped it off this time I haven’t had any more problems yet. To back up a little the battery was unhooked at the shop when I had the evap system smoke tested. Only thing I can figure is there some sort of reset after unhooking and hooking the battery, but that doesn’t make sense either. Does anybody have any ideas or a similar issue?

Pics of the truck, please.

I have not personally encountered your issue, but other members of this Forum much more knowledgeable than me in this area will chime in.

How old is your battery, and when it was 'tested', was it removed from the truck and tested on a bench battery load tester?

well...

I had the battery loose charge and have had to recharge it @ 2 amps to ensure
that it was fdully charged..it took almost 2 days.

I recent replaced my alternator..it was reading too low for my liking.

Tested both battery & alternator with my Innova 5610 and it reports the voltages
are good.

now about week before thanksgiving..the tahoe would not start..this is after I installed a new alternator.
jumped it off with a jump box and haven't had any issues since.

but I do shut off the radio, ac and select off for my door lights just as a precaution.

2019..+6 years..get your charging system checked.

I’d take a close look at the bigger electrical connections (I.e. to & from engine, alternator, battery & starter; both + and -).
Then I’d recommend the big 3 replacement with the added suggestion of military-style terminals for more flexibility in the future.
As a side note: I also prefer a dual battery setup and have (or have had) them on my 1992, 2002, 2009, & 2010 and if upgrading the big 3 I’d recommend doing this at the same time. My understanding is that the 2019 also already has the tray for the 2nd battery as did my GMT 900 trucks.

Thanks for the input. Ended up being a cell going dead in the battery. Showed good voltage but would not do anything.
