Just finished custom sub box build and install in a 2018 Yukon Denali. Love the added bass and factory look not having massive boxes behind 3rd row.
- Kicker CompRT 8" 2ohm DVC sub (paid $110 @ Ama..)
- Alpine MRV-M500 (paid $105 @ Ama..)
- 1/2" MDF 2x2' sheet ($15 @ HD).20cuft box (space savings and 1/2" is fine over 3/4" for such a small box)
- 20' 4awg power
- other parts

I think I have $260 in cost plus my time. It was a fun build and very much worth the time! Custom box took several interations but basically designed to fit in the similar location as the Kicker option, without the $700 cost! Box was designed to keep the cup holders on the left side. Used 1" aluminum bar from HD as the brace (seen in pics). Removed the plactic bracket holding 2 modules and relocated to metal bar with zip ties (see Kicker sub instructions).

Pics included. Hope this helps anyone that is looking to do something similar. Last pic shows cardboard cutout with measurements for each side of the 1/2" mdf cut (4" deep + top and bottom).
