Good Morning. My 99 Tahoe dash is cracked. Is everyone just putting the overlay unit over it? If you have, let me know where you got it. Thx

I’m in the same boat. My dash cracked from the upper passenger mounting screw hole, when the truck was new. I asked about replacing the entire dash under warranty. I let the service advisor convince me that replacing the factory installed dash was not a good idea. It would squeak, it would rattle, and so on. The dealership filled the crack with an unknown grey putty, which just dried out and cracked again. I probably should have got them to replace it. Would it have still cracked after 24 years? Who knows.

I would be interested in hearing if anyone likes the dash covers. I can live with a crack, but I couldn’t live with a monstrosity glued to my dash. Pictures would be a big help.

I found a link for them:

my problem is that the dash is cracked and shakes because all the top mounts are broken out. In addition the front bezel mounts are broken so bad that the bezel just kinda sits there but not really clipped into anything. Coverlay would make it look better and cover the cracks on top buy would not fix the shaking dash or loose bezel.

Some L-brackets painted black would probably suffice. You could bend them to match the dash curve.

Your bezel issue probably requires a new dash. I found one for $100 at a salvage yard here to use on another truck. It’***** or miss now. Try car-part.com for a decent salvage yard search engine.
