If you’re talking the 926-336 that’s the extension panel that goes between the dash and the windshield. It usually doesn’t crack but can do it when you remove it in order to replace the dash itself. I used it on my 08 Silverado when I replaced the dash because the GM one was around $250 iirc. It looked identical to OEM in fit and color/ texture. Add that to the cost of the dash itself which I bought at the time for around $400 and it was an expensive fix. I see the dash is about $600 delivered now. The dash has to be shipped freight due to the huge box it comes in thus the big price and dealers don’t stock them. I used an online dealer which was cheaper than my local one. I was hoping you linked an actual Dorman dash replacement but I see they offer an overlay that glues on instead. I don’t care for them due to the fact they look like an overlay where the airbag and other openings are. Sigh. I just bought an 08 Tahoe that has guess what… a cracked dash. :(

ok, so the Dorman dash panel that goes in front, against the windshield. That works perfect. Does Dorman offer the other section ? The job that takes 8 hours.. or is that a dealer only item ?

Dealer only. I doubt Dorman will ever offer that one, it’s a big complicated piece. Shipping is by freight only, UPS/FedEx won’t deliver that ginormous box so freight alone is around $300. I remember when I bought one a few years ago I found one shipped for about $400 but I see they’re getting closer to $700 now.

There are a few places on FB marketplace that are making reproductions out of fiberglass for around $430. They appear to be black and you have to dye/paint it whatever color you need/want.

I believe @_GMAN_ installed one in his truck and can probably give more info on the vendor he used. They were out of Texas if I recall.

Here is the other one I found...

One thought - like others, had cracks appear over the instrument cowl and near the passenger side airbag on my old 08 Tahoe. Looked at replacement options but decided to try a lazy man’s fix first. Applied a thin application of Super Glue gel making sure to work it into the crack, then utilized strips of tape (not over the glue of course) to level out right and left sides. Carefully wiped off excess and after curing, then did the area where the tape was. Finished the crack off with a fine brush and some black satin paint. Little Armorall to blend it and the dashboard came out pretty good (probably because it wasn’t catching my eye as much anymore) Was solid for several years before upgrading to a Yukon

I have the LTZ. I'd spend the $800 at this point, but I can't find 1 with the speaker hole for the LTZ.

I have several Escalades that are being parted out in my area...all with perfect dashes. And they're cheap. $200-ish. I've been looking for a dash for the Yukon off and on for years now. I'm tempted to pick up an Esky dash and center console. I'm assuming that my Yukon instrument cluster can be made to fit.

Main reason I don't want an esky dash, the automatic climate controls and clock..

None of them crack? Well that's a big reason to want one..

Yeah, didn't think of the automatic climate controls.

There's a couple truck dashes that are pretty good condition too, and I do like the truck dashes, but I'm wondering how much of an abomination it would be without the center console.

Only if you’re good with making a custom plastic bezel out of 2 different ones and plastic repair bondo. I put an Esky cluster in my Silverado.

It probably wouldn't be too difficult to draw something up in CAD then 3D print it.

“probably not too difficult “ Let me know how that works out. I started with 2 completely different bezels and cut them in half, plastic welded them together, and used a plastic filler to finish it with. They’re pretty complicated pieces with complex curves and attachment points. It was extremely hard for me to make it work but I’m just an old man using hand tools like the cavemen. here’s a link to the build thread where I finished the bezel.
