I just bought a 2011 Police Package Tahoe that I will be using for work as a Police Officer. It came with a somewhat upgraded trim package that includes carpet and small luxury items. I want to install the CID control button panel on the dash so I can change my alarm functions and I want to install the sterring wheel audio controls. I do not have the Bose NAV head unit. Is this possible and how extensive would it be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm afraid I do know much about electronics, including what the acronym CID stands for.
I'm not even sure if the steering wheel controls can be bought as a separate part and attached to your existing sw, or if you have to purchase a separate steering wheel assy to get them. I would however imagine that with either of those two options wires can be routed to any sound system, bose or not, to achieve the upgrade.
Keep in mind that I could be way off on all my observations, in which case someone more qualified will be by soon to tell you what the real deal is.
