I have an '11 LTZ that had poorly repaired rear quarter panel damage. One of the things that wasn't fixed correctly was the rear bumper. The one they replaced the damaged one with is from an LT, so there's no place for the backup sensors to mount.

I have the backup camera, so I'm not actually sure that I need the backup sensors - but what I do need for use is for the DIC to stop complaining about it everytime I turn on the truck.

So, I'm weighing two options.

1) I've read that by pulling the backup warning system fuse and then disconnecting/reconnecting the battery, I can at least get it to stop displaying the warning.

2) Get the proper parts for the bumper so I can put the backup system back. This is the part I'm having trouble with figuring out. I know I'm missing the LTZ bumper cover. However, what else would I need in order to put it back "right"? Does that LTZ cover go over my existing LT bumper (perhaps after removing the black step pads from it)? Or is the bumper under the LTZ cover a different part, such that the LTZ cover won't fit over an LT painted bumper? Are the black step pads different, would I need to buy new of those too?

I've done pretty well reading the parts diagrams from GM, but I'm having trouble figuring this one out. No one has a spare white bumper cover sitting around, do they?

Thanks!
