Code p1153

So my service engine light came on yesterday. Went to Advance auto parts and the code read P1153. I was told that it was O2 oxygen sensors and could run about $600 to replace.

Any ideas if that's about right?

I spent $800 for an O2 sensor. My truck went power limited and the P/S bank was not firing. If you can do it yourself great but with me not knowing it was an O2 sensor I brought it to my local shop and a lot of money later truck was perfect again.

you have 4 of them, 2 before the cats and 2 after the cats, they are easy to change if you have the right socket but not too bad even if you don't. they should be able to tell what O2 sensor it is.

Google that code or have the parts guy tell you what that code means. They can tell you which specific O2 sensor it is. Then just replace it. I suggest getting an OEM one. Although Bosch are cheaper, I personally have noticed they cause more headaches in the end than they are worth saving the money.

Dont pay a shop to change your 02 sensors, if you can get under your truck with a wrench you can change it. Super easy to do.
