I can get pliers on positive end and turn nut off. I can’t get on negative.

The primary battery 10mm no problem but secondary battery the setup is different and not sure how to get it off. tried with 3/8 socket no luck 10mm. Pliers was able to loosen nut on positive but not negative

Is the bolt head square or hex (on the right end)? If the nut is fixed to the left side, the only way to get it out is to turn the head, or threads. Besides cutting it off, that is.

Or remove the nut and disconnect everything there. Then fix the actual clamp so you can get at it.

Removing the positive cable works too, you just have to be careful. But the vehicle should be dead with just the primary ground disconnected.
When you're removing the ground wire, it doesn't matter if you touch anything else metal with your tool/socket.
When you're removing the positive wire, if you touch any other metal, you might create a short and bad things tend to happen.

I got negative removed! Let pb blaster sit all day. Came back to it with pliers and was able to twist it back and forth to get it loose.

I don’t get why it has to be designed like that when primary battery was way easier

I'm a little late on this but I would have told you to just bend the bracket out a bit. You still may want to do that.
