On Star was kind enough to let me know it was time to change the in-cabin filter, and it was filthy. Only had the Tahoe for 9 months, couldn't imagine after multiple years.

15 minutes well spent IMO.

Probably one of the least known things to change. I didn't change the one on my 2002 in maybe 8 years. After seeing that it should be replaced, I bought the filter which came with 2 filters. My mechanic changed it and said, this two pack at has you covered for the next time and changed one filter. 3 years later I figured out there's actually two filters in there. It was damn near black.

You wont believe the crap I had to pull from people's blower motors. This is by far the worst one that I can remember.

Complaint. Customer states ac smells bad

My notes. Mouse merrygo round went into overdrive. Turned into mouse centrifuge.

It gutted what mice living in the blower from their mouths and ass.

Was it using the squirrel cage as an exercise wheel?

How can one tell if they have a cabin filter. My owners manual doesn't state either way.

does anyone know if there is one that has a charcoal lining?
I have really good result at work and at home using air purifiers that have secondary charcoal liner, really does a great job removing smells

Did Onstar tell you through the vehicle diagnostic test or in the vehicle on the DIC? Also did you notice a difference, and how if you did. Just curious!

01-03 had them then certain models after that had them. 07-14 did away with them, you can cut into box and put one in....ill find the thread I commented on ... very easy....very easy....sheet rock knife and a door from amazon....amazon sells a kit to do it.... nbs may be a little diff but same principle...they put 2 filters in nbs as opposed to 1 in the nnbs. I put one in my 13 hoe

Looks like a total PIA to get to. Frustrating they make it so hard. 6 screws just to get to it? Jeez.
