I’m curious what others are using to mount their cell phones on the dash. In previous vehicles, I have preferred to have my iPhone mounted right next to the nav screen so I can simultaneously run Waze. Considering a mag safe set up for additional wireless charging capabilities. Curious what others have tried/liked.

So, let’s see your dash setups!

Do you really need the phone on the dash to run Waze? Waze works for me using wireless CarPlay…so phone stays in my pocket on short trips and goes on wireless charger on long ones.

That Said, Mophie makes a MagSafe Vent clip
Charger called the Snap+ I used in my 2013. Depending on your trim level, it may or may not hang over your screen. Just make sure you buy a MagSafe case.

Late arriving, but I can design one that could attach the the screen area if your still looking. Can even design it for a MagSafe wireless charging solution as well. Message me if your still looking.

I just ordered a left side angled Proclip for my 2019 Denali. I also ordered Iottie's wireless charging phone holder along with an AMPS base 17mm ball mount. I received the Iottie and test operated it with my Samsung Note 9 with a Otterbox Defender case and it works/charges perfectly. The holder is very adjustable from small to XL phones/cases.

Made this yesterday, now I'm thinking to use the "sunglass" cubby area for a mounting location..apparently a bit of more designing will be needed for a proper mount.

Pro Clip all the way been using them for years
I need something up on the dash; don’t love the ProClip solutions (one is low, the other completely blocks the left vent). That’s why I’m seeking options. Thanks guys.

I believe this one was from pro clip. Mag safe charging wired with coiled cord so it can move up and down with the display head unit

Where would you like to see a mount? iPhone or Android?

Check out the one I posted above from Course. In a perfect world, it's a Magsafe Iphone mount that is to the left of the screen, about where the gear shifter buttons are. Just to the right of line of site would be ideal. Here is the mount in my Jeep Wrangler; it's in an ideal location. That's a magsafe mount from Journey, which we have used offroading with zero issues (it has a ball mount on back). See HERE. (Please don't judge my wiring in the Jeep; I am in the process of installing two 12v USB-C ports facing up in the front dash tray so that the two phone mounts and the radar detector will have zero cords hanging down the dash)

BTW, these mounts would never fly in the Denali. This is one of those "Jeep Things" that no one understands... it almost looks like we taped a VCR up on the dash, ha! In the Denali, we are looking for extremely clean like the Course mount!

@Fast_AT4 Okay, Lisa is pointing to THE ideal spot. Or, right over the shift buttons, with the left edge of the phone being in line with the vertical chrome piece to the right of the N (neutral). That make sense? Perfect mount doesn't block the vent, the shift buttons, or the screen. You center it in that "bermuda triangle" and we would be very happy. Is there a way to mount a ball using the void of the shift buttons, or the "crossmember" to the right of the neutral button?

Edit: I drew in the perfect spot in our opinion - the higher the better without blocking the vent. Standard iphone, not the MAX or whatever they're calling the big ones now.

Since you have the Denali and not the AT4...would be a slightly larger task for me to get an exact/perfect solution. I will have to pass on this one.

I’m my JK with the 3.6l, I would agree. My new JL has a 3.0l turbo diesel, and it moves. We did 85 mph all the way across Kansas last month, on 37s, with one hand on the wheel. It drives almost as nicely as my Grand Cherokee. So although I’m not typically going as fast as I do in my GC (which also has a 3.0l diesel), I do need the V1.

It’s not an accident that my GFs Yukon is also a diesel! We are a 3x 3.0l diesel family!!
