So my 'Service Engine Soon' light came on the other day and had it checked out the Chevy dealership said on the print out they gave me, "Install Teck II and pull codes P0133, O2 sensor 1-1, P0430 catalyst system low efficiency bank 2" and told me the catalytic converter and oxygen sensor needed replaced and said price would be around $1200! Is there a cheaper way to do this if so please let me know because I sure don't want to pay that much.

Thanks

Many companies offer replacement aftermarket converters at a fraction of the price for those stockers. Details on your truck may lead to more assistance toward a resolution.

Sounds like you have a bad 02 Sensor, not a cat problem.

low catalytic efficiency?

that means REAR sensor readings are 'not sufficiently different' from the front readings, or the sensor is fubar/dead/static.
Could be front 02 and one rear o2...
i'd look for a deal and replace all 4 in one go.

everybody around here just cuts the cats off haha and i have seen the sensors go out and people just pull the bulb in the gauge cluster out haha redneck but cheap :D and never get dealerships to do stuff they are usually pricy.. mechanic shops wouldn't be in business if the dealership was cheaper. and dealerships will replace 15 problems when there is only 1 hahahaha
