Hey fellas I can't seem to find the fuel filter for my 04 Denali xl. Do they even have one?

I just googled, it says "under the truck in the middle on the driver side along the frame tuck inside the frame". If not pretty sure it's in the gas tank.

Oh ok. So it's not line a inline filter like all the rest.
I'm thinking that only the Flex Fuel trucks had them. It would be right in front of the fuel tank, inside the driver's side frame rail if there is one.

But--this is what it says for an 04 Tahoe---
IMPORTANT: This vehicle has a lifetime fuel filter built into the fuel sender inside the tank and thus is not serviceable separately. The fuel filter is not a replaceable part.
So if it's not bolted to the ds frame then it's in the tank.

Yep! My ‘04 & ‘05 Silverados had it as part of the fuel pump.
It's just like my 05 with the filter in the tank.
I’m pretty sure 02 was the last year they were inline, under the driver seat on the frame rail. After that they went to in the tank as part of the fuel pump assembly, as well as the fuel pressure regulator.
my 03 silverado had one I think that was the last year and they changed it in 04 but I could be wrong

I’m not laying under mine right now, but I’m pretty sure my 03 has one, thought 04 was first year without
My '04 Flex Fuel has one on the rail.
Oh yeah I forgot the Flex Fuel ones are different. Not sure when they changed.

My 03 non FF is on the ds rail, under the seat.

If it’s a flat disc, that’s a pressure dampener

I don’t think I’ve ever seen one where there’s one on the rail.
Think you could take a pic sometime? I’m curious how and where it’s mounted

The Frame mounted Filters come in two types. Type
#1 is pictured courtesy of Fless. Type #2 from me. Both filters have a flexible front fuel line which you remove first. The plastic filter holder does not need to be removed and may not even need to be loosened mine however was somewhat tight.

The ones with one male and one female fitting maybe came on the Flex Trucks.
