And we are in! Tightened to snug and 1/8th turn more. I don’t dare tighten them further and I don’t trust my torque wrench anymore (grabbing a new one this weekend).
hey at least you didn't do what I did and confused ft lbs for inch lbs..... hmm this seems a bit tighter than it should b... snap!

you should be fine, these newer seals and stuff are usually problem free. now go back a couple 2-3 decades and uh one mistake and the next thing you know your on fire on the highway
lol. I had a heck of time with some valve covers on a 350, thankfully the plug wires had heat shields I think I had caught it on fire at least 4-5 times, stupid gaskets wouldn't line up right. It would look ok and be fine while parked and revving it up but as soon as you hit the highway it would spit out oil, sometimes not for a few miles. I think I finally got it after the 3rd set of valve covers and unknown amount of gaskets.
