So...looked behind tires today (just got new ones and trying to assess rubbing, that's another story) and see the below. Yes, both sway bar links are completely busted/unattached .1) how worried about this should I be? 2) how pissed should I be at the guys who did my inspection two months ago

What kind of inspection? Mandatory, or the one zillion point courtesy inspection? ;)
Both! In theory. I'm assuming that they both wouldn't just have snapped off within the last two months. I haven't felt huge diff in ride quality at any point since buying it ~9k miles ago (about 60k now), guess I don't know what I'm missing. Plus had all inspections, etc. at that time

just replace them and carry on, for whatever reason it's fairly common on the gmt900's
if one broke then the other would have been right behind it. kind of like wheel hubs
autozone has the duralast ones with lifetime warranty, will be around $50 or so for the set

Another reason they snap is if the bar was installed ( or reinstalled) upside down. BTW - Moog makes very good end links.

the bushings are gone..
had mine do the samething and just went and got replacement poly urethane bushings.
spent more time chasing the bushings as they rolled around under the truck..autozone for less than $12..

@midlifecrisis I wonder if the tire shop used the sway bar as a jack point (instead of the frame). That would certainly tweak the links.

probably not, the oem ones randomly break on these trucks for whatever reason, the calipers will leak, the shocks will leak or go bad as soon as 85k, on the k2's the shocks are worse and start going bad around 45k, the fluid filled motor mounts pop and leak all the fluid out. probably a few other things I am missing that are pretty common occurrences.
*the 6l80 oem torque converter can start going bad around 100-120k
just par for the course of owning a gmt900
