Been getting complaints from members here having issues with other members. If you are having issues with other members just put them on your ignore list. The button for that is under their screen name.

No need to bring up vehicles from 20 yeas ago on what oil you used.

If you have no more information on the recall just don't post.

I really do not want to lock this thread.

What should we expect to happen first?

1) NHTSA website updated to show remedy available, or

2) letter shows up in the mail

My boss has his inspection date setup for next week. 2023 Silverado 6.2, I’ll post up when I hear how it goes for him.

Has anyone had the inspection done? Oil or new engine?
Also on the recall list and needed to bring my at4 in for an oil change last Friday. They did the regular 0W-20 oil and told me i need to wait for them to get the instructions for my VIN. The service tech did say that they have started doing a few inspections because those VINs had been "released" by GM.

I would be curious to see an oil test done from the same vehicle using both weights. Granted depending on the mileage the damage may already have been done. Although, one that “passes” but hasn’t changed over yet might be a good candidate to send off as well.

Lucky me! I just called my local dealership and today is the first day that they see that a remedy is available for my VIN. I am officially their first vehicle scheduled for this recall inspection, etc. Next monday we shall know whether or not my 2nd engine passes the sniff test lol.

Having a hard time keeping up with all the changes, but originally GM stated if the engine had been replaced on any of the recalled vehicles, if the replacement engine production date was not July 1, 2024 or later the vehicle would automatically get the engine replaced without even a Pico Scope knock test.

Now that the Pico Scope knock test was implemented, it is unclear if the replacement engines get a pass and 0w40 oil if the Pico Scope knock test passes.

If your vehicle has had a replacement engine, then you will likely be able to obtain a firm stance from the dealer.

I am worn out trying to read all the documents and unclear if I even have the latest and greatest documents!

I think I’m on the other side of the recall. Still nothing when I check my VIN. Hopefully I’m in the truck last a long long time category! Time will tell, good look to everyone.

I wonder if that is by design?
