Many(most?) people (including myself) who bought these brand-new, just don't have the skill/equipment to do so and labor costs are much higher here than in Russia ( I assume ) to hire somebody else to do that. I have a warranty so I'm planning to just wait and see how this plays out.

As for cheap labor, I'm not sure. Qualified service is not cheap. And judging by the information on the forum, maintenance in the United States is cheaper than in Russia

Because, as i have alluded to in earlier posts, most who are purchasing vehicles have no desire (and/OR know-how) to work on them.. hence why they are buying new vehicles. You’d be hard pressed to even find a grease monkey that will turn wrenches on a new vehicle under warranty other than an oil change maybe.
It is sad that over time, the driver of a car has turned from a technically trained person into a gadget operator

Well, i don’t know how far back in automotive history we’d have to go when the operators were all technically trained persons but, i mean, i agree with your point. Wouldn’t it be great if auto technology and design stayed the same forever as it was in its plateau in 1997?

Like one of my friends once told me in the most country of midwestern accents (his normal accent) “ain’t no such thing as truck drivers anymore, we’re just steering wheel holders”

Fact is. most people buy new cars because they just don’t WANT to mess with them. Car culture is dying out worldwide, us motorheads are the minority. We can keep it alive to an extent, but the automotive sector is now dominated by tech.

I can just see that conversation..... Honey, where is my truck? I need to pick up the kids. Sorry dear, it is in the garage with the engine partially disassembled so I can check main bearing clearances. Yeah, someone would be sleeping in the garage after that....

Yes. And the technology is nowhere near as well-documented and accessible for DIY repair as the mechanical bits. There is a big opportunity for a company to start reverse engineering and documenting the technology in these, and help facilitate DIY repairs to it. Right now, it's all black boxes to most of us.

Out of curiosity : how much is a good mechanic's labor per hour in Russia? Around here it's around $150-200 from what I can tell based on my past invoices and quotes (Toyota, Chevy). To clarify: that's not what the mechanic earns - that's what dealer/services charges the customer

We are getting close to 100 posts. I am just hoping that my 2022 is in the 97% or is it the 95%. Whatever.

If your 2022 is still 'OK', all you need to do is move onto 0W-40 and the odds are much higher that you will remain in the 95%

Just tear apart the old 0W-20 filter and check for metal

Whether it’s a truck, a boat or a house, here in America the majority of people who spend the money on a higher end product are usually not the ones maintaining or fixing that product.
The more expensive the vehicle, boat or house the less likely the owner is going to be working on fixing or maintaining it.
