Brake wear

I have 02 chevy tahoe. I put in new brakes, rotors and calipers in the rear. I noticed the back passenger side the outer brake pad is only wearing on the top of the brake. I was wondering if anybody had any thoughts how to correct the problem

either the rotor isnt flat, or you dont have the pads in the caliper straight

I agree with ATL but also check to see if your caliper is stuck.

that was my first thought too, but if it was from the caliper sticking, one pad would be worn more than the others, but it would still be wearing even

Make sure the caliper can move freely on the slider pins.

I think from what your describing it sounds like one pin is not allowing the caliper to close flat. Its instead closing on on angle wearing out the top of your pad.

Does this sound right peoples?

My calipers are only days old. The calipers slide on the pins. It's not making any sense why it is only hitting on the top.

All the little shim pieces are in straight?

if it were me, i just go pull it all off, and put it all back on. sounds like something just didnt seat right

I noticed today that the brake caliper housing is almost touching the rotor on the lower side. Seems when you tighten the two bolts on the caliper housing that the housing isn't sitting straight.

As we say in the south "there you go!". Sounds like the pads might be in straight but the caliper isn't seated correctly. Do as ATL said and pull everything out and reinstall it. I doubt you need to pull the rotor. You can redo everything without disconnecting the brake line. That way you don't need to bleed the brakes a second time.

I took it apart many of times to figure it out. Everytime you bolt the caliper bracket on it's close to hitting the rotor on the lower part.

Swap the calipers on the back and see if the problem remains. If so you may have a warped rotor or a bent caliper frame.If the problem remains with the caliper then take it back for a replacement.

I agree that the caliper "pad" bracket may be bent. I would just take it off and take it back and get a replacement since they are brand new. Also, if you haven't already, fully flush your brake fluid and make sure to properly bleed the brakes as well during the installation.
