don't know, I don't get the ding. What I would like to know if someone can answer this, will it damage anything to just ignore it? If it is an itermitent problem I'm guessing when the lights are off I have my ABS functional, when the lights come on I might not have ABS. That being the case, if I pull the fuse I'll never have ABS, if I leave it alone I'll have them when the lights are out. OR will it damage something if I let it go?

The mechanic next door to us told me that in some cases the ebcm will cause the abs pump to run all the time. Basically, this would be the only scenario that something else would be harmed. Also, my abs is still functional when my lights and warning come on.

I guess that's what I was wondering, if the pump runs all the time is it going to burn something out. Doesn't sound like it would be too good for things

Yes, it is my understanding that the battery would die and the pump would eventually burn out

If it shuts down when you turn the truck off it shouldn't kill the battery, right, but you'd still run the risk of toasting the pump if you drove very far with it running constantly, right?

Correct, but they said that sometimes it might keep running even with the vehicle is shut off.

I am having all these same problems, ABS light, Stability Control light, and tpms light. I replaced both front hub assemblies and that did not fix it.

Fast forward to yesterday, going about 80 on the highway, both rear brakes LOCKED UP for about 2 to 3 seconds. I have been driving this thing with the lights for a few weeks, but now I am ready to get this fixed!

A lot of great info in this thread, if anyone has any advice let me know. Thanks

I will add that all this happened after I brought my car in for alignment, tire rotation and oil change at bridgestone. The service tire monitor was already on, but after the visit abs and stabilty came on. I don't think they did anything wrong, and I know the service manager very well, but it is a little coincidental.

Trying to learn my tpms does not work either, passenger rear wont connect.

Also I cleaned up the ground connections, didn't help.

Well mine ended up being a simple fix, drivers rear abs wire or speed sensor (whatever it is) was frayed, spliced it back together and shes good to go...

I had the same issue awhile back too, It's the speed sensor. The speed sensor is sealed inside of the front hub so I just replaced my hubs and haven't had any issues since. There was a recall on the front hubs for 00-06 I believe

I think you guys need to slow down on the EBCM assumptions and maybe check some of the smaller things first like some of the last posts.
Check wires and connections on sensors before going crazy on repairs.

My lights were going off and my brakes were really loose and I couldnt stop very well... I replaced my front hubs and not only did all the lights go off and the brakes work perfectly but my ride is much smoother and quieter up front!! I guess 190,000 mile hubs start to suck pretty bad!!

I've had zero problems with the brakes or performance, it's just the park brake light and ABS light stay on. Would there be a code set for a speed sensor? Where do you find out of there was a recall?

Thanks. If I follow it correctly, the wheel hub assemly one only applies if the hubs have already been replaced, not if they are stock, correct?

Any updates with this? My tahoe is giving me the same problem with the ABS and brake warning light.
