Hi guys! I found everything works on my 99' Cadillac Escalade. Except, when I hit the brake pedal, the lights come on then go off as I press harder. I checked all the fuses. Good. I pull the taillight bulbs. Good. I even put grease on the plugs. I sprayed some WD-40 on the plunger opening. Same thing. Tap the pedal, brake lights on. Press harder. They go off. Do i just need to replace the plunger? I appreciate any advice.

My first suspicion would be a faulty brake light switch(labeled "stoplamp switch" in the pic below). Attached to the brake pedal lever.
