Ok so I may be posting this in the wrong place but we just picked up a 07 yukon Denali with 48k and the Cruise does not work it will light up on wheel and when set is pushed nothing happens I have been looking into the brake switch issue and so tonight when the wife got home from work i had her hit the brakes and with it on and running brake lights come on when the key is on and not running they come on but with the key off and out the brakes dont come on. What the heck is going on here????

The brake lights are not supposed to come on when the car is off if that's what you're asking. When the key is turned in ACC, or the car is on, they will come on.
You either have a lamp brake bulb out or it's the brake switch.

Yeah you're just a bit confused. The lights don't light up when the car is off.
