I had a previous thread going about contemplating the idea. After a few weeks of going back and forth I finally was able to get it for a price I was content with.

this truck was my legit first car. bought it when i was 16 from a chevy dealer with a warranty and all lol. learned how to drive with it and took it to my driving test and all that. I sold it late 2007 with 85k.
so the guy i sold it to called me back after 10 years and informed me that he was selling it. i couldnt say no so i went to check it out. overall the body / interior is fantastic shape for a truck thats almost 20 years old. no body rot or rust at all. typical frame rust as usual. interior is still great with a really small rip in the drivers seat but thats to be expected. it needed some work mechanically. intake gaskets were leaking like crazy / valve cover gaskets leaking oil. engine light is on for 02 sensors also. after a month of going back and forth i wound up making the decision to go pick it up lol. so now the fun begins

its a 1999 gmc yukon. now its got 130. its got the blue leather interior also!! lol

so far im doing:

intake gaskets

valve cover gaskets

cap / rotor

plugs / plug wires

water pump / thermostat

changing valve cover pcv lines / gromets

back in 2007 a few months before i sold it

Still looks good. Should be a fairly straight forward job. Good luck with it. Gotta clean up those headlights tho.

I agree the interior looks mint!! It is rare to see a 99 Yukon look that good in my neck of woods down here in the jungle.

few more updates : the headlights i ordered turned out to be garbage and wouldnt line up right. decided to go big or go home and ordered all new OEM ones. spent a little more than i wanted to but at least i know what im getting. im a big believer in doing it right the first time

also noticed the battery is garbage. slow cranks after 2 hours of the hood being open with the light on lol. going to pick up a optima red top.

also changed the 02's and did a few tests on the cats to see if they went bad. so far so good 200 miles no more engine light

alsoooo ordered a new steering while since this one is worn in areas and feels like crap
:grd:

so at this point the rig is basically completely fixed and up and running. ive been putting some miles on it and everything works as it should. just a little re-cap on it so far

intake gaskets
cap / rotor
spark plugs / wires
pcv purge valve
driver / passenger valve cover pcv lines
water pump
tensioner
idler
new belt
radiator
new lower hose
all new OEM headlights
New OEM mirrors
New OEM tail lights
Climate control unit replaced
Reman radio unit
OEM 4x4 switch
OEM head light switch

not sure if i missed something lol but its been a fun past few weeks. looking for someone to reupholster the drivers seat. its a bench seat with blue leather and its impossible to find a seat cover or even a used one on ebay.

also someone asked me a little back about the plates. i have to get a letter from the dmv stating they were not used during the time of them being un registered. once i get the letter ill be able to re-use them.

The finished product :

Thanks guys. It feels good to have it back. I took that truck to my driving test lol parallel parked it like a pro. Lots of cool memories in that rig. I knew if I let it go it wouldn't be long till it wound up in a scrap yard.

You can Find the headlights from a few different places. If your looking for oem I found them to be the cheapest from Gmpartsdirect.com.
I could send you a list of part numbers if you need.
