Does someone know who / how the Border Patrol mods the front bumpers on their 2007+ Tahoe's?
It appears that they have a mondo prerunner style skid plate as well.

Thanks!

The only pre runner style bumper ive seen on a 07+ was when i was watching dangerous drives. Looks sweet. Pro comp makes a nice light bar. Any pics of what you like?

Doesn't look good, but the approach angle just went through the roof. Must make it a lot more versatile in crappy terrain.

I agree...but i think it can all come together with a leveling kit and some big nasty cleats

Sorry but in Border Wars on Nat Geo, it looks like they just cut it off midway up the "vertical" part of the bumper

it could be a flood light for scanning a field while they are patrolling...so they have a very wide beam pattern...?? maybe, just a guess

That bumper is cut right on a factory body line, I think it looks tough add a straight 1.5-1.75" tube lightbar with 3 or 4 lights and it would look even better. I should have never looked at this thread, now the gears are turning in my head...

No moldings either. Looks lifted about 3 inches, but it might just be an illusion

Hmmm, I think it's just leveled. It looks like stock height in the rear and like the front is up 2-2.5".

Those are stock 17" wheels with probably the stock sized tires (265/70-17) which are only about 31.6" diameter.

Here's a picture of my Tahoe with 31.6" diameter tires and a 2.5"/1" leveling kit. Mine looks like it has about the same tire/fender gap in front and slightly more or about the same tire/fender gap in rear than the BP Tahoe.

Did you ever find a skid plate / bumper styled like that?

This thread is very old but I used to own a BP Tahoe with this style skid plate.

Here are some pics I have. Might have more. It went from the backside of the bumper support to the frame underneath and had aluminum plate screwed to that.

It also had a strap to keep the hood open a few inches with crazy stiff hood struts, had a 2” lift block up front and 2” lift springs out back from a company called Baja designs (I think, I have the springs still I can look if someone cares). They were in Cali and did up fitting for BP

Some threads age like Susanna Hoffs.

Is there a GMT800 version?
Or do I just start by removing my front bumper and going from there?

Yeah, the bumper cut is easy. Just follow the body line. BP follow the notch up in the center which is why you see the black metal bumper in the middle.

I cut mine straight across instead so it's only plastic visible still.

The skid plate I'm not sure.
