My 03 Yukon came with the chrome already color matched, sad part is it was not done very well. I was tossing up the idea of a Denali conversion but decided I like the look the factory bumper and grill offer. I started by disassembling and sanding all the main bumper back to metal using 80 grit sand paper and a orbital sander. The filler and lower valance I just scuffed up again to be re-sprayed. It took me about 3 hours or so, but most likely would not take nearly as long if the bumper wasn't painted. Just make sure to really sand everything well for a good surface for the paint to stick to.
The billet grill normally lays over the factory grill, and has a piece of screen mesh behind it so you don't see the original. I decided I wanted the billet grill to sit behind the plastic, kind of like the factory on was. I cut all the factory grill away. It's a pain but do-able.
The billet grill sits behind the plastic very well, you could attach it with some strong adhesives or screws (make sure they don't come out the front side) to the back of the plastic grill surround. After cutting, it'll need some plastic filler and a lot of sanding.
It looks a little ruff at the moment, but I'll update pictures as it comes along!
