I don't know I don't have any money in the "replace things I've already bought" fund right now so probably just stock.

But this is why the stock intake has that flex section.

This is what it looks like at the intake box when the throttle body portion is properly seated.

Ah I see. I bought the full airaid cai that had the fine filter with the heat shield so I never had that issue. You could always get the matching cone performance filter and heat shield too and you'd be able to leave the intake tube on.

I emailed airaid while I was talking to y'all earlier and they have already emailed me back and suggested I clean the tube with brake cleaner to make it less slippery and that the screws only need to be snugged plus a 1/4 turn.

You welcome bro.......

Just tighten them real good..... but don't crack anything.

When you tighten it all..... try pulling on the tube to see if it comes loose........ if it does..... loosen it and put it back on and retighten it.

It's just so stupid how difficult it is to change the intake tube and make it work should be easy.
Like it was for you guys.

At this point I'd just ditch it out of frustration. I have a very low tolerance for that stuff :)

I dont understand why I'm the only one having issues with this...
I mean you guys saw the picture of the line up of the air box to tube it clearly isnt my fault. Either I got the wrong part by mistake or my truck is seriously different from all the others.

Had this problem on a older Sierra. We used the acordian style tubing connection from the factory intake to make the connection more flexible.

Blazed, when the grommet is seated on the throttle body, can you pull the Intake tube towards you (towards the front of the Tahoe)? That may line it up better. I noticed I had to leave the hose clamps semi loose and play with how far/not far I inserted the tube into each grommet on the intake side and throttle body side. Then I torqued all the clamps down fully.
