I have a gloss black hitch cover that fits a Denali or Escalade. It's wider and covers the spare tire winch access compared to a standard Tahoe or Yukon model. Has a slight scuff mark in the center that's very light and not that noticeable (can barely see it in pics) which should buff out pretty easily. I believe paint code is 41U

Do the LTZ's take the wider covers also?

I think it was from 2009 and on. @kbuskill has the regular rear bumper on his 2008 LTZ which is like my 2009 SLT as does @iamdub who also has an LTZ Tahoe from 2008.

The 2009 Chevrolet SUV brochure shows the Suburban LTZ with the bumper in question. I think it's called the "2nd design" in my parts book; still packed away somewhere.

So the Suburban got the second design first? So confusing. I have a cover I got from a salvage yard that doesn't fit my bumper. I got it soon after buying my Tahoe, before I learned there were different bumpers.

I'm pretty sure that James is right on this.

My '08 Burb LTZ has the plain Jane bumper without the hitch cover or the chrome strip along the black step edge.

I mistakenly always assumed that my rear bumper cover had been changed out for a non-LTZ bumper cover before I purchased it BUT that assumption proved wrong upon more in-depth research here on the forum.

They do sell aftermarket hitch covers that are held on by the hitch pin for our 1st design bumpers but I never really cared enough to get one.

No, what I mean is that the Chevrolet Suburban LTZ and Tahoe LTZ from 2007-2008 did not get the 2nd design rear bumper until 2009. The 2nd design bumper is a high end item, so the Escalades and Denalis came with them when the platform was introduced.

I gotcha now. I'm glad I decided against adding a chrome strip to mine cuz now I'm de-chroming the whole thing.

Me too, eventually. Previous owner put on Putco chrome rear door handle and chrome cover over rearview camera applique. Truck came with chrome mirror caps but they are black now and chrome door handles which I'll swap out someday for black.
