have not used lemon pledge yet, but will from now on

It may be too late to have Pledge be effective on your trim if you've been using AA... But if your trim is still in good shape, then give it a try.

The black step pad on my rear bumper is fading and looks grayish.
Any recommendations to restore it to black?

Remove and paint it...I just did this in a semi gloss black to match the rest of the black plastic. Looks like new again.

My front bumper cap (black textured plastic) is (or should I say "was") so faded that it looked like gray Z71 plastics. I tried countless products, Armor all, Tire wet, Mothers Back to black, peanut butter, and even motor oil. Each was only a temporary solution for maybe 2 weeks at the most. I can't say I ever tried Pledge though. But what I have been using for the past few months (with only one application a month, even with rain and washing it) is Adams Super VRT . The VRT stands for Vinyl Rubber and Trim.
This stuff works wonders on black plastics and trim, and tires too. Its a low to medium gloss, so it doesn't make it look wet, just looks clean and "new looking".
Here is my bumper the very first time using it, with a section still untreated.

That looks like my next option if the Pledge doesn't work or if my wife uses it all on the furniture. :happy175:

Have used Mothers,Meguires, and various other products until I found Forever BLACK bumper trim and conditioner (FB040). This stuff is the best-comes in a plastic bottle with foam applicator on top-just like shoe polish. Dries quick and looks great

I have used AA and Mothers and recently started buying the Turtle Wax trim restorer from the auto parts store. The turtle wax stays on for a LONG time and doesnt seem to hurt the plastic at all. I never liked any turtle wax stuff but this does truly work the best. It also can be put on in direct sunlight which was always a pain with mothers. It does get slippery though but you can wipe it off easily and it still shines. Here is a video to the stuff:

Try it and youll be sold.

I suppose it makes it more slippery than nothing, but it's not "greasy."

You can use whatever you'd like, but I would NOT recommend tire wet on anything but tires. You're going to destroy your plastics.

Just look at any Jeep Wrangler on the road with milky, faded, blue-gray fender flares, and then ask the owner what he used on them.

Although I agree with your Armor All statement, the faded fender flares on the Jeep Wranglers your seeing is just sun fading. Trust me, most Wrangler owners are not shining their flares with armor all.
Back to Black is great stuff, I also use Meguiars Boat rubber and vinyl protectant and cleaner. I use it on the interior too, seems to leave a nice shine, cleans, and I trust it more than the super shiny greasy stuff.

Sure they are. It's all that most people know. Plus, the first couple uses make the flares dark and shiny. But then the damage is done.

I agree that I'm seeing sun-fading on Jeep flares. But it's usually the combination of AA and the sun that makes them milky and faded. The trim otherwise will NOT just turn that way on it's own. I can say that because mine sits out and has NOT faded.
