What would you buy with $400 budget in 2025 now that you know what you want to do? Which device? I plan on getting a complete tune by end of year. I’m a complete newb when it comes to tuning. Thanks

Other members more familiar with available tuners for your truck will chime in.

It's kinda a waste of money to get a generic box tuner. Save up some more and get tuner from here.

I’m trying to get the right thing the first time. Is my budget too low? Just looking to calibrate tires, AFM delete full time, tune the power and the transmission. Ideally I would like to have choices for the way I drive it. Towing, every day around town, then long interstate runs.

Thanks for sharing!

Ok so for ~$720 I get everything I need from DiabLew. I’m contacting BB and will see what his package is.

BlackBear Performance's remote tuning package's price is in the same ballpark, but BlackBear will be doing the tuning, and you will simply do data collection and install the new tuneS (motor and transmission) yourself using a device that you purchase as part of the package.

I've used BlackBear Performance for tunes, and their work is outstanding.

So after talking to 3 different tuners, I bought the Blackbear Performance package. In a few weeks I’ll report back on my experience. Thanks for the help.
Dont get multiple tunes through BB though. Atleast they only made me 1 tune and thats about it

You'll be quite happy with your upcoming BlackBear Performance tune.

I was happy with the BB tune I started off with. They were even able to get my Whipple in and some specifics on trans shifts etc. I graduated to HP tuners now that I need more advanced stuff done.

I can’t wait for this to happen. My Autocal should arrive today or Saturday. 4th of July is Friday so no mail. I’m 52 and former dirt bike off road racer, so I’m all jacked up and giddy about getting my ride tuned for first time. Having it shift where and when I want is something I’ve dreamed about for long time.

Thank all of you for your help. I’m not pc savy at all, but I was able to do everything that was needed on my end just by following the very detailed instructions BB provided. Very easy.

WOW! Got the tune installed this evening and did a short 10 min test drive. Holy Sh*t that woke it up. Idle is now fine with no AFM and 700rpm idle. What a travesty the OEM’s do to these vehicles off the factory line. I’m kicking myself for never having any of my other vehicles tuned. I can’t wait to see how it tows tomorrow. I can tell from where the shift points are now it’s gonna yank that trailer around. I was so in love with how it ran in Drive, I never even thought to try Tow/Haul. I will tomorrow though. Probably going to need to upgrade the brakes now! LOL

And, your transmission is still learning the new tune. Talk to us in another 100 miles. :)

Drove to Dallas today. 6 hr drive. Got 20.1 mpg. Mixture of 55-75 mph. Pretty loaded down. I’m good with that. It runs so much better it’s ridiculous.
