Yea, I'm fortunate to have the best of both worlds: 6 months of chrome factory 22's on street tires, and then 6 months of a more aggressive hunting / winter setup with legit Nitto tread and my black wheels. Although, if I had to pick at this very moment I would probably sell the factory 22" chromes and stay black for good.

I feel you because I am from Michigan and trying to keep chrome clean in any aspect isn't gonna happen past a few years. Black is low low maintenance and I loved that when I had them.

Thanks man! I Shopped everywhere online and eventually I ordered from discounttiredirect.com

They price matched, had a solid promo going and shipped quickly (arrived in a week). I'm really pleased with everything. Absolutely love the 2" drop in back...thanks again Tony.

Rides perfectly factory, looks anything but.

For the hunting setup?? Do you still run 22's,
or a different wheel size combo??

Sigh 22's are factory ... how things have changed! I'm thinking 18's or 20's for a street setup with a 2/3 drop.

We have real winters out here (well not by Minnesota standards) here snow ice and stuff but lots of "dirt roads and stuff" everywhere. Our 2004 Denali is certainly not a "Rock Crawler" but I don't want to compromise its ability to get to the malls in the winter. :)

What are and size are those wheels and tires??? And ... I just that LE the Sheriff's Departments are using those out here (NV)??? The NHP seems to use the Ford Edge ... creepy looking things in NVHP Colors ... or maybe it's just me?? I freak whenever I see the Ford Badge on a White Edge!

^ 22x9 transit rims

not used by LE that i know of.... i think they use 17" or 18" ones

used by GM plants when xfer'ing vehicles w/ big rim pkgs.... so they are not stolen while being tranported.

Not to thread high jack. But if anybody is looking for set of these 22x9 transits DM Me. I have 2 sets and only will use one for a c 10 project. Will happily get rid of one.

So gm only uses those rims for transporting and once they get where they're going they get tossed ?

Well yes and no. They are supposed to be destroyed and tossed. But some how they are getting leaked all over local buy and sell blogs. I found two sets at a swap meet and was interested in using them on a old C10 project. Then a buddy wanted a set as well. But now plans have changed so one set is up for grabs.

^ this

plus they have a really stupid high core charge associated w/ them.
they use tires & tpms sensor on vehicle & are supposed to send the rims back to plant for reuse.
just doesnt always work out that way ;)
