You're kinda screwed since the obs 4x4s have a much wider front track width than the new bodies. You're almost better off doing a 2wd hub or converting it to the newer 6 lug pattern if you wanna bag it.

WOW sorry im so late on this... Nice work man.. good to see another one of us.. yea with all the free stuff how could you NOT do it!!!

As for your time just so everyone knows a local shop should do your free travel and your brackets welding for between $150-$300 in labor.. so if you cant weld but dont mind running your own switches and line.. there is a cheap option.

Yea a longer panhard bar will do wonders for riding with it mashed out. An adjustable heim end bar is even better because if you do go lower you can make it even longer.. but like he said shift WILL happen.

You can do what i did and get rid of your uppers and run just your stock lowers (on a kit) and do a triangle from the rear.. but its REALLY not necessary and imo too much work to get the 1/2 you need to get frame..

Now if you decide to c notch it... ($250 installed at most shops) then doing a reverse triangle makes alot more sense because youll need it for the 4 inches....

ON the other hand you might run into all kindsa shit before 4 more inches is even a thought.

Has anyone built an adjustable rear track bar for these things? I'm thinking about buying some tubing and building one myself, rear is off with my 5" drop and I'm sure it will get worse with 8" or whatever the hell you get with bags.

How are you gonna run the front? I'd get rid of the torsion bars for a set of shockwaves and some tubular control arms. I'm trying to figure out the best route for retaining the awd and laying the front down 10" or so.

gonna take the bars out for sure. im not really feeling the shockwave because of the limited travel and i heard alot of ppl being disappointed with the ride quality and for nearly 1000 bucks id rather fab something myself and save mad cheese. i havent really had the front wheels off recently to get a good look in there, but im thinking relocating the shock and stuffing a bag between the lower arm and making a top cup somehow leaving room for the axle (or taking it out, who know?). i wanna do 3800 bags up front.

I'd overbuild the shit out of the air system as these trucks weigh quite a bit. 4 viair 45050 100% duty cycle compressors and a 15 tank would be sweet. You have a spindle drop or keys up front?

I think you can weld on the oe control arms. Have a machinist dial up your bag mounts and I'm sure you could tuck a bit with a narrower tire.

Nope not possible the stockers are cast and you can't weld to them.
Basically you take a DJM lower control arm and bolt the bottom of the bag to that. Then you weld a torsion bar plate to the frame with gussets for top bag mount, and there you go bags up front. I know I've been saying this but I need to take some pictures of my front end........

Here's a pic from someone on GMfullsize.com. It's a Crew Cab... but pretty much the same setup.
