I thought my driver side shock was going bad. Turns out my mechanic said it is most likely the lower ball joint. My tahoe only has 40k miles. Any body heard of this happening?

Your BJ was probably damaged when the drop was installed.

Considering that it looks like you have only had the kit on for 6 months. May have been overtorqued.

There is no way. You will pay $100 for the part and labor at the most.
Could also just buy a new lower control arm with a balljoint installed for $150ish also.

What was the truck doing that made you bring it in to have it looked at?

I had the same issue with mine a few years ago. Lower Ball joint had to replaced. Sometimes they can't get the ball joint out and have to replace control arm. I had my drop on for a while as well. I think it most likely was from not a correct allignment. I had some bad camber on mine back then. But I think I paid 250-300 for mine installed.

I'll take this one please. Anybody with a basic set of tools could do this.
