Ya'll read my thread im sure where I put the backup camera and monitor in our yukon....easy.
But now im gonna do one in my dad's 2006 silverado as well. but on that one, im working out a way to wire it up so he can have it for a backup camera or a manual override to turn it on to watch his camper when he wants to.
so, i come to the TYF peeps seeking wiring wisdom. Whats gonna be the best way to do this. I think if i can find some sort of 3 way switch...and have it to where i can connect the backup camera and monitor to the reverse wire, then middle position would be off, disconnecting power from the monitor and cmaera and the third position connecting camera/monitor to 12volt ignition power. what sort of switch would be best? any ideas or experience? am i looking too simply at this and gonna need some diodes or something? i was thinking if i had a switch that would break the circuit before making connection to the other power source, i can keep it simple.
