Are these prices the going rate?

Have had fluid change for shutter at 30000 under warranty. At 69000 had to do the fluid change again. 839 bucks at gmc dealer. Wow. Does that sound correct??? Also will it need to be done in annother 40000 or less?? What can i do to extend the time. What am i doing wrong? Averaged about 7500 for 7 years. Maybe i dont drive enough. Maybe i should take longer trips?? Also had my longtime trusted mechanic put shocks on back and struts on from. $4000. They were leaking oil or out if oil. Seems like you should not have to putshocks, struts, and second fluid change to temporarily fix shutter problem at 69000. 2015 yukon Denali. $4800. I am 72. Seens like alot to me. When I was 16 I would buy a pack of smokes for 35 cents and gas was 35 cents a gallon. So seems like alot.??

the fluid change, for your transmission?
there is less than $25 part for the transmission thermostat...actually replaces the factory spring
and allows the transmission fluid to circulate the whole time without having to "warm up".

depending on which suspension is on your truck/suv the cost for struts & shock can be costly.
but to replace them not more that 3 hours labor.

so $4k to replace your struts & shocks does sound abit on the high side.

got a receipt?

the flush price is just a little high, but not bad considering a Dealership
$600-900 looks to be avg

$4k for shocks & struts is very excessive
i mean when vehicle was new, it would probably be about right, if mag ride struts.

on my '15 at 45k, one of mine locked up & it was $1700 under warranty to replace. other side at 60k-ish, same price

now the struts are like $400-500 each for front. rears are cheap as they are just air shocks.

what is your mechanics labor rate? is it higher than Dealership? lol
it would be worth double checking your invoice. maybe other work was also done

Pics of the truck, please.

You are already receiving sage advice from the knowledgeable folks on this Forum.

Yes, everything costs a H*ll of a lot more now than when we were kids for sure.

Your shocks replacement cost was a rip off, end of story. Shocks for your truck can be purchased for under $400 each, and the rears are a piece of cake to replace. The fronts need to be disassembled/reassembled, which should involve a heavy duty spring compressor or press, but the rest of the job is simple, as well.

My advice to you is to shop around a lot before making a decision to purchase.

Dealership did my transmission and coolant flush and it was $800....
They wanted to $4000plus to replace front mag ride struts. Ended up getting them done at Firestone for $3k
