Anyone from Maine? Portland/Bethel Area

Thinking of a short trip in early/mid December and just curious if snow is usually on the ground by then. Point of the trip is to see snow and stay in a cabin where we've stayed during the fall. Plan to fly in, rent a vehicle and chill for a few days.

Planned trips around an almanac before, was completely wrong. Just looking for a little info form the locals. We will be getting married there next fall so may try to check out a few of the venues while we are at it.
