I already ordered HID's for my head lights, now im looking into getting HID's for my fog lights. Does anybody make 25w kits for the 880 bulb? or will the 35w kits be fine? Ive heard really bad stories bout the housings being burnt up.

Point is, if you convert to aftermarket P1's you can get them with a 9005/6 plate.
Saves you trouble of needing multiple bulb types for lows, highs and fogs..

And actually have some useable light output from your fogs, instead of just expensive looks..

I have been running 35W kit for my 880 fogs for a good five months. I use them a lot too. I also have duct tape, yes duct tape, holding one bulb in since the twisty thing that holds it in broke and it hasn't even melted. So, unless you get bad bulbs I wouldn't worry about melting.

I have 35w DDM kit in my smoked fogs for 2 years now no problems at all. I just had to push the reflector out a little bit because the bulbs are little long.

P1's are cheap and easy as long as you don't try to be Mr. Fancy Retrofit Guy like me....lol. I made a very simple mod ridiculously complicated. Looks good, though.

I've got 55w DDM Raptors in my fogs with 3000k Morimoto bulbs from theretrofitsource.com

I ran the 55's with my OEM foglights and it did burn/scorch the very center of each lens. Other than that, though, there wasn't any melting and it wasn't noticeable unless you were looking for it.

For those that are running HID's in the fog lights are you running the relay harness kit or do you just plug the stock harness in?

I bought a harness when I bought my lows and fogs but haven't needed to install it on either yet!

I've been running my 35w in my fogs for almost 2 years just plug and play. Usually you only need the harness for 55w HID's. Each vehicle is different, my buddy is running 55w DDM's in his mazda 6 without a relay harness.

I'm running 35w hids in my fogs with a relay. If it works without problems then fine. I run my relay to prevent flickering or misfires. Not sure if I really need it because I installed it at the same time with the hid kit but that's just for my piece of mind. It (relay) only cost me $10 from ebay.

I've got a relay on my lows, but got lazy on the fogs and wired it direct. I've got 55w Raptor ballasts and I've never had an issue. They are slow to fire up, but I don't think that has anything to do with the wiring....

Good to know guys thanks for the info. I have a harness currently on my lows and a harness for my fogs but I'm being lazy and didn't want to run the harness for the fogs in the cold if it was overkill.

the melting problem is only with the 55 watt kit. i've been runing ddm kits for a while now on many different cars with no problems.
