Android auto via wireless connection?

After installing my 8200nex, I wanted to know if I could use Android Auto through a wireless connection? Sort of like Belkins Mirracast that is able to mirror your phones screen without wifi.

Currently in order for me to use Android Auto, I have to be wired to my usb receptacle that was in my cigarette lighter port, which is then hooked into the rear of the Pioneer.

Basically I'm asking if there is a USB Receptacle that uses bluetooth or another wireless ad hoc network that would connect my phone to the USB input.

Currently this is the only way to use android auto that I'm aware of. Maybe a wireless dongle can connect to same usb connection on HU and talk to phone but the AA technology requires a direct plug in. I have 4200NEX and ready to see if wireless option comes out in the future. I currently have both chromecast and AA setup. Only issue with chromecast is you cant do dualzone media.

There has got to be a way through some sort of USB dongle.

I was going to go the chromecast way but decided to use Belkin Miracast instead since I don't have to use my phone as a hotspot.

Wait, the Belkin provides wifi but where does it get its internet from? I figure you either have to pay for a seperate ISP for the belkin or does it talk to your phone which would make it same as chromecast? This would have been awesome but you can not run another source for music while accessing HDMI unlike android auto where you can.

They keep making firmware updates so maybe in the future there will be an option.

The Belkin does not provide wifi. For example, I can't connect my pc to it and surf the web. It simply just mirrors my phone. Exactly like Chromecast, but a wifi connection is not needed.

Hence the reason I went with Belkin, no need to use data for a hotspot.

Sorry, I should have been more clear with my last post. The phone and the Belkin dongle connects via wifi but an Internet connection is not needed. The wifi is ad hoc only.

Sort of like bluetooth. Example: your phone can connect to a bluetooth earpiece but a interent connection is not needed.

Ah, gotcha. I see the difference and why Belkin is better. My Tahoe entertainment phone uses wireless for internet to play media so the wifi was needed anyway. Setup once and you never worry. Mirror through Google Home App, 2 step process.
