I have a 2005 Suburban 2500 that needs some modernizing. The truck is an LT with steering wheel controls, rear entertainment, Bose, and no OEM Navigation.

I really just want to install a backup camera to make it easier to hook up a trailer, but nowadays there are so many options for in-car Double DIN touch screen devices that I figured it might be worth upgrading the whole system.

My absolute requirements:
-Backup camera
-Maintain steering wheel button functionality
-Maintain rear entertainment sound functionality via main volume control
-a real volume knob...I do not like having to mash buttons to go up and down

"Nice to haves"
Bluetooth connectivity for streaming Spotify from Android phone
Android Auto for GPS navigation from Google maps on phone

Part of me wonders if there is an easy plug and play option for a Rearview mirror that offers backup camera capability...

Regarding an aftermarket radio, call the folks at Crutchfield, tell them what you want and your budget, and they will tell you what radios meet your requirements, along with an interconnection module that doesn't require any wire cutting and soldering, AND will preserve all of your steering wheel controls.

And if you find one you like with a real knob, please share a link to it here. The best I found was a head unit that had actual buttons, vs only the touch screen.
