Android Auto / Apple Car Intelilink update

Any chance the 2015's get the update for android auto/apple car?
I can't see technically why they couldn't especially if it only relies on a USB connection from a phone with the correrct OS from what I can tell.

Here's the link to the GMC press release talking about adding CarPlay to the 2016s. Android Auto available later in the model year.

As for upgrading a 2015, our resident expert, GTPprix, says it's technically possible but cost prohibitive. It would require several module replacements and custom software to be written. If you've got a 2015 it'll be cheaper to eat the trade-in difference.

I, for one, plan on waiting for the GMCs to be able to do the wireless carplay announced as part of iOS 9's feature set.

Wireless CarPlay...

I saw a video today that must have been from the recent developer's conference. It said Apple CarPlay will being going wireless. Does anyone know if it will be wireless when the 2016 Yukon XL Denali goes into production next month? I have one on order but really want the wireless feature.

My understanding is no. Not wireless for the 2016 GM products. This makes sense. The iPhone software to make it wireless doesn't come out until the fall.

According to this article, wireless CarPlay is already being tested in ios 8.3 Beta. I think ios 9 Beta is available for anyone to download free now but haven't seen anything about wireless CarPlay with it. I wish there was some ios developer who could shed some light on the issue.
