Turbo mufflers typically are close to OEM sounding as they have the S bend piping inside and arent designed to be aggressive in any way. Simply out flow stock, thats about it. 3" pipe on a stock 5.7 is typically pretty quiet in itself. I had a 3" straight pipe dumped out the side of my Sierra and it was quieter than my current setup of 2.5" stock pipe with gutted cat with a Cherry Bomb Extreme. Also I should note the Extreme muffler is rated louder than the glass-packs on their scale.

Pops when you Rev after a good warm up but doesn't really pop under normal conditions. Typically popping is a condition of running rich. Or at least in my experience it has been.

So guys... I got my muffler on today. Last week I ordered a Super 40, 3 i/o, offset, and hot damn, it sounds feckin' awesome. However it does have some pros and cons.

Cons: the muffler has this throaty tone, which is great, but it sounds almost a little too throaty. When idling or at really low rpms it's almost like there's a pillow shoved in a pipe somewhere. I think next time I redo my exhaust, I'm going with dual glasspacks.

Pros: Sounds great when you get your foot on it, you'll DEFINITELY get noticed, and I can legitimately feel it accelerate faster and easier. Maybe this wouldn't happen when going up from a stock muffler, but my stock muffler was broken, had holes on the bottom, and had baffles loose and falling out, so this was a pretty noticeable performance improvement.
