Alright, I posted a thread awhile back asking for suggestions on alarms. I decided to go for a Python 574 unit with remote start. I also got a bunch of other interface things such as a DB-ALL and RF-loop. I am going to be installing the unit myself and figure it shouldn't be all that hard given that I have done more complicated wiring projects compared to the possible splicing and soldering the alarm will require.

Everything looks pretty straightforward besides two things, since I have never installed an alarm before I do not know where two wires go, the neutral safety and parking light wire. By just thinking it through, if the GMT900 are built anything like the NBS versions, I recall a neutral safety switch attached to the column shifter assembly and I am guessing I splice the wire into this? Also I am guessing I can wire the parking light wire to the wires coming out of the dial switch on the left of the dash? I guess I can say it is somewhat self explanatory but I was just wondering if anyone can give input on maybe the wire colors and whatnot of these two things as I have never token apart the interior of a nnbs truck and for sure do not want to cut the wrong wires. Thanks.

I am also not going to take it to a shop to install, I do not like other people doing things to my truck, plus I like learning new things. Also I do not want to spend $300 for someone to do something I am more than likely capable of.

If you go to access kits website it'll help with the exact wires you will need to hook up to the vehicle. Usually the neutral safely wire I just ground

Parking lights are a negative wire at the light switch, light blue in color. Make sure you set the alarm for negative parking lights. And I usually just ground the neutral safety switch wire also.

Hmm so grounding the neutral safety wire is what I will do I guess, I highly doubt I will remote start in gear anyways since you can't take the key out of the lock if its not in park anyways. Thanks for that bit of info both of you.

I also remembered this site after I asked for the parking light wire color. I didn't know you had to hook it to the negative wire though, and also do not know how to set the alarm for negative parking either, I will look into that part. Thanks for the inputs again.
