What's everyone getting? I drive mostly local roads in the suburbs of pittsburgh and I'm getting about 12.2 miles per gallon in the last 1700 miles.

I feel like that's really low. Or am I just not used to driving a small tank.

I realize your post is in the 2015+ topics but came up in new posts. But my 01 w 5.3 gets between 18-21. Depending on how I drive it. In city I get about 15 or so.

Thanks. Im hoping to hear from others with 15's to see if this warrants a dealer visit.

I try to watch the cylinder deactivation and I notice I barely every switched to V4 even when stopped.

You live in PA. I doubt you have driven on a flat road yet. Lots of hills take more fuel.

Yes. It is very hilly here. It's the suburbs of Pittsburgh. It has gone on a few highway trips as well. I guess I'm just a little surprised by 12 mpg. I was expecting 15 ish.

I'm getting 16-17 with mostly city and suburb driving. 12 does seem really low even in a hill area like Pittsburgh. But maybe you have a heavy foot too.

Thanks guys. The car is half driven by me and half my wife. I'll reset the trip meter and make a conscious effort to monitor it.

So I drove my x5 tonight and my long term mpg is 19.9 (and it's rated for 19 city) so assuming I drive similar on the two. I would expect 16mpg. I'm getting the mpg equivalent to using e85. I wonder if the cup somehow thinks I'm Using e85 and is adjusting performance.

I am getting 18mpg through the first 2000 miles. Good balance of city and highway. 5.3L Tahoe.

Never reset the trip on my '07 and it had 15.8mpg at 120,000 miles. So I'm happy so far with the improved engine.

Once you get her broken in a bit it will improve. Also, if you are not run premium to and see if that helps your numbers. Quality of gas can have a lot to do with it.

I get 14-16 in around town with a lot of stop and go. Average about 20-21 at high 70s and 22-24 in the 60s.

Overall average is 18 in 3,000 miles.

We just got back from a 3200 mile trip. Keep in mind no mountains between Oklahoma and Florida but got 22mpg going out and 21.7 coming back. The difference is probably attributed to taking different route there and back. The trip back had higher speed limits. Our previous vehicle was a Volvo xc-90 and it would have done about 22-23mpg but with quite a bit less space. The kids love the rear buckets.
